08 Nov Gift Ideas for a Countryman
They can be pretty hard to buy for right? Men in general that is, but throw in the fact that he is a farmer too and you are really in trouble! If your farmer is anything like mine then he really doesn’t ever want for anything and that genuinely does seem the case when it comes to the farmer breed, making it particularly tricky for everyone else come birthdays and Christmas.
Whether he is a farmer or just a country loving guy I have been working hard to find you a whole range of gift ideas for him. I hope you find something that you think he will love…
I’m starting with one of my favourites! Rusty Rooster is a husband and wife team, from a farming background.
Steve made his wife Sara something out of a bit of rusty metal for the garden and she loved it – and so did their friends and family! Soon enough their rusty metal art was something that everyone wanted and I’m sure you can see why… Their products are beautiful and so unusual. I’ve put this in the men’s section but actually there is something for everyone here, and not just the farmers among you. Maybe Grandad loves his gardening? Or your horse could do with a new stable door sign? The possibilities are endless!
Farrah & Tanner offer luxury bespoke products from some of the top companies, and you can get anything from pocket watches and toiletries to garden tools and BBQ accessories – All very manly items too! They also offer an engraving service, making your gift even more special. But I have concentrated on their knives this time.
Knives as you know are everything to a farmer and if it goes blunt or isn’t man enough for the job, well that could have a huge impact on farmer’s day. Swearing is inevitable and things might just get thrown, so he needs a good un! Luckily F&T have a huge range of knives and multi-tools so you’ll definitely find something, and I really like the price range. You can get a really affordable knife that is still a decent knife and would make a lovely present, ranging upwards to the more pricey but still not too much money. And at the moment a lot of their knives come with a free sharpening stone too!
I actually bought Farmer Ben an engraved knife from Farrah & Tanner last year for his 30th birthday from Hugo and Teddy and he absolutely loves it and really cherishes it.
It’s definitely worth checking out their website and not just for gifts for men, you can also get some lovely dog items too.

We all know how much farming depends on the weather and farmers do tend to love a weather station, so if he doesn’t already have one it’s about time he did!
